About · Drawing No. AB—01

Built for exhibitions.
Nothing else.

Expo Exchange is a focused marketplace for exhibition tenders. It gives exhibitors a structured way to describe an opportunity and gives stand builders a direct route to relevant work.

§ 01The origin

Built from a view of both sides

Expo Exchange grew from years of hands-on experience as a carpenter and stand builder. That perspective exposed a recurring problem: capable builders and promising projects were often connected through fragmented emails, existing contact books and word of mouth.

Relationships will always matter in exhibitions, but they should not be the only route to opportunity. Exhibitors need a clearer way to brief work, while builders need a practical place to find live tenders and present a considered proposal.

The result is a marketplace designed around the tender itself: structured project information, exhibition-focused profiles, submitted bids and direct conversation in one connected process.

§ 02Why exhibition-specific

The brief makes more sense when the platform understands the job

General-purpose workflows can hold a project description. An exhibition-focused marketplace can organise the details exhibitors and stand builders need to start a useful conversation.

Generic workflow

General purpose
  • Open-ended project descriptions with little exhibition context
  • Supplier categories spanning unrelated industries and trades
  • Quotes and conversations spread across separate inboxes
  • Limited space for exhibition-specific company and portfolio detail
  • A general workflow that still needs adapting for every show

Expo Exchange

Exhibition focused
  • Tender fields for show dates, location, budget and stand area in m²
  • Builder profiles focused on capabilities, regions and portfolio uploads
  • Submitted bids available together for structured comparison
  • Direct messaging between exhibitors and builders
  • A workflow shaped around exhibition tenders from brief to award

§ 03Different approaches

A better comparison starts with more context

There is no single correct way to design, fabricate and deliver every stand. The right approach depends on the brief, venue, budget and show programme.

A—01

Modular reuse

A—02

Custom fabrication

A—03

Freight-led delivery

A—04

Local sourcing

One builder may propose a reusable modular system. Another may favour custom fabrication, a different logistics plan or local sourcing near the event. Expo Exchange does not certify one method as the answer.

Instead, exhibitors can review the price, timing, proposal and available builder-profile context, compare submitted bids and use direct messaging to clarify the approach before selecting a builder.

The platform creates a clearer place to compare submitted information; commercial and technical due diligence remains with the parties involved.

§ 04What stays true

Principles for a focused marketplace

Industry focused

The platform stays centred on exhibition stands, the people who commission them and the teams that build them.

Clearer decisions

Structured tenders and side-by-side bids help exhibitors review options with more context in one place.

Approved public profiles

Builder profiles pass through Admin approval before they appear in the public builder directory.

Direct connection

Relevant exhibitors and builders can communicate directly through the marketplace as they evaluate an opportunity.

§ 05Platform journey

Built around real marketplace work

  1. 01 · Origin

    Grounded in trade experience

The idea grew from years of hands-on experience as a carpenter and stand builder, and from seeing how fragmented tendering could be on both sides.

  2. 02 · Today

    A working exhibition marketplace

Exhibitors can create tenders, builders can maintain profiles and submit bids, and both sides can compare, message and award through the platform.

  3. 03 · Next

Keep improving the route to the right work

The focus remains practical: make exhibition opportunities easier to describe, discover and evaluate without turning the platform into a generic marketplace.
